Description

The HX1042 is a high efficiency monolithic synchronous buck converter using a fixed frequency, current mode architecture. It achieves 3A continuous output current over a wide input supply range with excellent load and line regulation.

Switching frequency is internally set at 400kHz, allowing the use of small surface mount inductors and capacitors. Current mode operation provides fast transient response and eases loop stabilization.

Fault condition protections include cycle-by-cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown.

The internal synchronous switch increases efficiency and eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode. The HX1042 is available in SOP8-PP package.
